Funny noises

I am having a few problems with my ranger. The check engine light came on and I pulled the error code. The code was the cam shaft sensor. I just replaced the sensor and synchronizer a year ago. I didn’t think it could go bad already. That’s part of the problem. The second part is a whining noise when I push the gas petal that gets higher pitched the farther I push the petal in. The sound goes away as soon that goes away as soon as I let off the petal. I also hear another low vibrate noise when I am rolling like something needs greased. I looked for grease zerts but couldn’t find any. Could all of the problems be related to setting off my check engine light? Any help would be great.
