Lower RPMs does not mean better gas mileage. More RPM's is better than less, especially with the 3.0L.

4.88's BARE minimum for a 3.0L and 35's. I'd even go 5.13's, but if you are still going to do more highway than offroading, then you can get away with 4.88's.

4.56's won't cut it bro.

Yup 4.88s at least. 5.13 would be a good choice as well, but if you're 4x4 you can't get them.

7.5 or 8.8 rear ??? But yeah 4.88s minimum. 4.56 are more for 32's / 33's. That 3.0 is going to hate you. Not to mention the bearings.

Why not? The motor will be fine if it is geared properly.

yea i dream of a 4.0... however 4.88s may do it as long as i get the low end? my typicall off roading is very rutted terrain so its usually low speed crawling through holes. so maybe 5:13? guys runnin 4.88s hows your low end?

Get a doubler if your going to be crawling. 4.88's and a doubler would be perfect.

Your engine will be fine with the 4.88 or the 5.13. I'd be more worried about the axles holding up than the motor.

I'm running 4.56 with 32's and @70mph my tach runs about 2800
I was running 4.88 with 35's on another project and @ 70 it was just a little lower but mileage was same with both.
