gears issue

k guys i got my gears long time ago finally installing them
the probolem is when i called completeoffroad they told me to get the standard gears....well... guess what... i need the thick gears

on the rear i got dana 44 series 3 so i need the dana 44 thick gears

what ive read is that on normal gears and thick gears the pinion is the same? the only thing that changes is the ring?

anyone might help out to see what difference in thicknes of the ring? i caled completeoffroad but he didnt answer me with numers just "ehmm no.. buy new gears 169$..."

therfore i should be ok by getting a spacer made to fit for the difference in size? or atleast while i decide what to do if i eventually get a rear arb locker that anyway i cant install it with thick gears....

thansk i really need to get my truck running again...

i had 3,73 and im going to 4.56.

Im sure its a dana 44 series 3. The housing is the same as a standard dana 44 but the carrier changes a lil therfore i needed the thick gears.

The thing is that what ive read the pinion on std gears and thick gears is the same? All that changes is the thickness on the ring? And should i be ok getting a spacer? But what i cant get is the difference between size on the standaard gears and the thick gears on the 4.56 gears...

do not get a spacer... thats super ghetto!! yes the d44 has a carrier break around 4.11 i think.. you either need thick gears OR a new carrier! since you already have the regular gears i would get a new carrier for the gears and set em up with that

EDIT: Dana 44 carrier break, 3.73 and down; 3.92 and up

hmmm this really sucks. Ive heard from some guys on argentina that have done this but atleast do this as a temporal fix while i save for a locker that fits the regular gears... Still need to find the size difference between the rings
