Friction Modifier + Open Diff?

I've been doing a lot of reading lately on benefits of different types of gear oil and noticed that some oils have the friction modifier already in them. I know this is usually used for a limited slip diff. but I was just curious, what would happen if one were to use friction modifier in an open differential? Would there be any benefits or would it make bad things happen? Feel free to school me.

I don't think anything would happen, it would be just like normal.

With it , without it . In an open diff it makes no difference.

Guess that makes sense, since a LS is basically an open, just a tad more complex. Thanks guys.

An open is a different animal from a LS.
