HELP - noise changing from 3rd to 4th Gear

Just joined the forum as I recently bought an 04 Ranger Edge 3.0L V6 with an AUTO trans, with 45,000km's on it. I've only had it 2 weeks, but when I'm changing from 3rd to 4th gear, for about 2 seconds it sounds like I'm hitting rumble strips, then its gone. Only happens if it is running at over 3,000rpm. I'm taking it back to the dealer as it has a dealer powertrain warranty when I bought it, any ideas so that I can at least have an idea before I take it in. Thanks.

Does the trans hesitate or slip when this happens, or does it just make noise? Does it happen all the time, or when the tranny is hot or cold. A little more info might narrow it down. What does the fluid look like?

I actually just got the Truck back from the Dealership yesterday, it was the solenoid! From what they told me sounds like it is a very common problem part that they replace often!!
