HOLY S**T Tranny

So ya like my post before i have been getting some back clunks and i think slips but today i was driving and i pulled up to a stop light and was sitting there. when the light turned green i let off the break a pressed the gas.... all it did was rev and i started rolling back.... it was acting like it was in neutral. so i tried changing it back between park and drive 1.... it took about 5 mins of me sitting there to finaly get it in a gear. and when it did it made the loud cluck again and it drove again... really would like some help with this.... i dont want to detroy my truck right after i got it because i didnt fix this problem

1st do you have trans fluid in the vehicle??

2nd did you add enough and use the right one. There are different types. Mercon is the standard. My 08 takes Mercon V.

3rd Normally a vehicle low on fluid will have trouble shifting or seem sluggish. Since your vehicle won't engage (go into gear) you may have let the tranny fluid run dry or your tranny is fried. Either way, it needs to be checked out ASAP.

if you just bought it then take it back to where you bought it and either get your money back or have them fix it.

That only works if the truck was bought at a dealership. If he bought it out of some guys front yard, I doub't he'll get any money or repairs done.
