how much money to regear?

first off to regear do i just have to find a ring and pinion set that is made for my axle

and second if all i have to buy is the ring and pinion set i found some for about 150 so would installation cost around 250 if i only have a 2wd

prices depend on where you go, who does it, if you know anyone, so the price varies on install.

some places want you to drive in, drive out, all their parts, that way they can warranty the work better. Don't pay extra for an 'extended warranty'. Waste of money.

I've gotten quotes for $350-500 per axle, considerably more for the front but i know you don't have to deal with that.

You really should just call around and see what shops say. I'd do quality gears like Yukons and a master install kit(bearings, races, shims, etc) and replace all the seals while they're at it.

IMO $500 per axle would be the limit I'd pay.

I had one of my Jeeps re-geared at $250.00 per axle but that did not include any parts or materials.

I had a quote $500 out the door and he would provide all the parts inc gears at whatever ratio I want. And thats in CAN dollars, u should probably be able to get it cheaper.
