Limited slip = positraction.

That's like asking 'how do I turn my motor into an engine?'

these guys are right, but ill assume you mean a "locker". you can get a replacemetn carrier, depending on your axle, but expect to spend $400+ alone on the locker itself, plus the labor to install it (its not a backyard install)

im just curious why you would need one, if you already have an LS it should be sufficient for what you need, hell i have 265hp to the wheels an i just installed a factory trac-lok in mine! same for my torino, factory trac-lok

Not when you're referring to a car motor. Technically, you're right, but people say "wheels" and mean "tires" too...

You can even get into the different types of lockers also if you wanted to.

I've never looked at the inside of a differential so do you have a picture of which gears are which?

exactly...thats how you make a locker!!!

i did it on 3 different race cars. it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a spool and it also gives you more metal to deal with...so in lamens terms if you weld a posi or open into a locker, it is still more than likely gonna be one of your weakest links and may break sooner than other components in the driveline, and as a racer that's not always a bad thing...

no. I just know how to rig lots of stuff, never actually DONE it.I know that it isn't very safe on wet corners though, so if you use it on the highways or roads, don't do it.

depending on what axle you have, they make a drop in lock-right and no-slip for the 8.8 L/S carrier. it is a back yard install because you dont have to swap out the carrier and re-setup gears. if you have a 7.5 though it's gonna be expensive to go to a locker. one thing you could do with the L/S if it doesnt grab strong enough for you is change the order of the clutch packs and add a few more to tighten it up...

Tireiron is right. the stock set up for a l/s unit is clutch then 2 plates then another clutch... and so on.. you could do clutch then a plate then another clutch. that works really good. you either use some of ur old plates and a rebuild kit.. or 2 rebuild kits to do it. a rebuild kit is about 50 to 75 depending where you buy.
