Locker help

Ok so I got this locker its a powertrax and the book says this:

This is what mine looks like:

How do I get it all lined up? It needs to be turned just a little bit so its lined up.

Also is there a special gear oil I need for my diff now?

I would put it in a vise and maybe make a tool out of a piece of pipe with teeth cut into it to fit those grooves. Then drill a hole in it that way you can stick something through it to turn it.

Maybe something like this.

can you twist it by hand? see if the other half will match up to that one?

I cant turn it by hand. The other side is lined up perfectly.

do you have an axle shaft out of the axle yet? just stick it in there and turn it. no need for a special tool.

I havent started working on it yet. Maybe friday i dunno. I really dont want to remove the whole axle shaft.

you have to pull them anyway, so what difference would it make?

do outer axle seals while your at it, cheap insurance

hmmm probably a good idea. The truck has 60k is there anything else that needs to be done to the rear axle?

possible wheel cylinders check them pull the boots back and see if there wet or rusted.. possible rear brakes

while your down there check your u-joints, hows the shocks doing?

Yes brakes need to be done. The fronts will be done before the dunes and the rears will have to be later in the summer. Shocks im pretty sure are good.
