It would be nice to have a compressor as back up.. but the tank can deliver more air a lot faster, and I can run air tools off it. the tank will fill 24, 35s from 10-35 psi.. in ~48 seconds each more than enough for a weekend on the trail, then $10 to fill it.

its not like the locker takes much air anyways

Ah wow, lol. Didn't realize that there was that much air available. What size tank?

I think I might invest in one, I need some onboard air anyways

i have a 15lb tank, those are the specs off powertanks website, never really tried it..

Its nice having 30cfm at 120 psi for taking lug nuts off rather than 4 or 5 cfm at 90 psi lol

(ask for it for christmas) haha that's how i got mine.

yea, its C02. it says on the tank in a few places and in the manual not to fill it with compressed air.

its at about 1,000 PSI full.
I aired up my 35s twice last weekend when we were out, my buddy aired up his 33s, i used the impact to take apart my axle and put it back together.. its probably half gone, I'll probably fill it after this saturday and hope it lasts for the next 3 weekends in a row

Thanks for the input guys, greatly appreciated. I have 4.10's in the front and rear with the 28 spline axles, but I think I've decided on the E Locker.

ARB air locker comes in 28 spline as well. i was quoted for one at $895 and $300 install, then about $250 for the compressor. i plan on installing one this summer. on board air would be awesome too for airing down then up tires.

I think everyone except Powertrax has stopped making stuff for the 28 spline axle.

Edit: ARB still makes it for the 28 spline.

Explorer, Ranger (US), Front 1990-97 Dana 35 (V6 only) 29.5 (1.16") 27 2.73-3.31 RD1031
Aerostar (2WD) 3.54 & UP RD1021,4
1998 on Dana 35 (non-standard) NA
Rear 1990 on Ford 8.8" dia. RG, C-clip 30.5 (1.20") 28 All RD82
33.5 (1.32") 31 All RD81

I wouldn't get it for a DD.

why not for a DD? because the 28 spline isnt as strong as a 31?

I have been told by many distributors that ARB is not not making the locker for 28 spline 8.8's any longer, even though it is listed lots of places.
I wouldn't spend big money on a locker with a 28 spline, personally. An $800 locker isn't going to do anything with a broken axle shaft.

No I just wouldn't spend all the money for the locker and compressor for something that is going to see the street. More crap to lug around.

If Eaton has stopped making the e-locker then there's a lot of stores still selling it. Do a google search.

That sucks about the ected. I have heard similar reviews though. I had hoped to run one in the F150 down the road.
