Looking for a service or repair manual 2001
I've been searching, surfing and reading and I cant find a web site that offers a downloadable repair or service manual like Chiltons or Haynes for my 2001 ranger with a 4.0L. or maybe someone here can help me. My clutch went out today. Recently the slave cylinder has been leaking a small amount but, today it stopped working all together. I've replaced hydrolic clutches before but never anything this new or with an internal slave cylinder. My local mechanic wants to charge me $1,100.00 to do this job, that includes a clutch kit, slave cyl. and flywheel.
please reply.
Thanx

As far as I know, there is no Haynes or other A/M manual for the 2001+ Rangers. A factory manual costs $160 new or about $60+ used on eBay. Some people sell bootleg CDs on eBay that are made from Ford factory CD manuals. I don't like the idea of that but they are a lot cheaper.....
This is only $25. It should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

Ravensedge, although alldata is very fine software I don't believe it goes into as much depth as a Chilton's or Haynes. It does give you a lot of information, but Chilton goes into more detail. I use Alldata at school a lot though, its great for electrical diagrams, specs, pictures of components, stuff like that.

It shouldn't cost you more than $500 to get the job done. That's slave cylinder, throw out bearing, pressure plate and clutch plate. Shop around a little and find someone who won't rip you off. Even with replacing the fly wheel it shouldn't cost over a grand. Have a good one. Yakee
I've got Mitchell at school and its horrible. I have access to Alldata through a friend. I prefer it to Chilton's or Haynes. All about personal preference i guess.
So I'm not hijacking the thread...
