Manual Transmission Removal Advice
99 Ranger 2.5l Lima standard, 118k
Hi all,
just looking for a little direction. I need a thread on transmission removal and install. I already know what I’m doing (all parts, tools, factory manuals, 10 yrs experience, etc)
just need a good reference to see if theres anything else i can prep for. I’ll be replacing clutch kit, slave, rear main engine seal, and sealing up any other tranny leaks. I’ve got studs to guide tranny back on.
Are there any other seals or bearings i should redo while i got her out?
Can i manage easily with only front end lifted or should i get a couple stands for the rear?
Will begin and finish Sat 7-13-2019

Update
Thanks guys,
sorry for 2 yr delay. I successfully replaced the clutch and slave cylinder. Didn’t end up doing rear seal or even pilot bearing, but its been a champ the past 2 years.
I live in Honolulu with no garage. It’s either work on the street or at friends spot. I put the front end up on jack stands and had the job done in 8 hours.
thanks again for your input
