i seen one today and i didnt think it would hold up at all!
this truck looks like it was a street queen but still i didnt think it was a good idea.

 

i had 35's on my 97 with a 7.5 and 4.56's. Never had a problem with it.

 

big *** Nittos 35x1450 didnt have a problem, but he didnt run it long like that

 

i mean give it time and something wil break being smaller axle..but it will work

Never seen it person, but your other truck is cooler, IMO...

7.5's will hold up to 35's...I guess jsut don't wail on it all the time...I'd drive it like it was a 7.5...

 

I wailed on that truck every weekend and drove 60 miles ea way to work daily. At 160k I did sas. In those miles replaced clutch at 100k, brakes and bearings and maf at 37k.

It had a 4" Fabtech lift with radius arms and bent i beams along with 3" body lift. Had lots of fun with that truck. wish I still had it.

most of it. all body panels, motor, trans all swapped on to 95 excab in my garage. Fabtech coils and blift on my white Ranger.

 

i still find it funny that my truck drives better since i came back from that place.

 

28 spline 7.5's and 8.8's use the same axles,the only diff is the size if the ring gear. So you could put a locking diff in the 7.5 and be just as strong as the 8.8 overall. Every 7.5 failure I have seen was in the diff.
