Need Serious advice on rear axle.

I had the rear axle open last week changing the gear oil.
The axle tag says 4 10 88
my door says R7!
My truck is susposed to have ls but it appears it doesnt.
I dont know much about axle inyards but it appeared to my noob axle
eyes that its an open diff.

So, WTF do I do my truck has 70000 miles on it.. and I got ripped off an ls

Edit: I'm 99% sure my orginal window sticker said L/S on it too.. let me go find it.

R7 is L/S 8.8
edit: forgot to note that the 97 is open 8.8, both have 4.10 gears

hurm... It looked like that but I dont remember about the S-Clip
I am pretty sure I could look right in and see the gears with nothing in the way
I might just go jack it up then turn a wheel..
if they turn same direction LS different direction = open right?

From: Coal Region, MTC to be exact...heart of the coal region.
go outside and do a little power brake, if u leave a one wheel peel ur open...if u hav two black marks ur golden...

j/k.

in most cases a LS will turn opposite of the other unlike an open that will just spin the side ur turning...at least on everything i ever touched did.
