if you can't drive with a regular shifter, you definately can't drive with a short throw...

what? i can drive it i just don't prefer it... driven Grants Evo with one all the time, then driven several mustangs with them.. and a **** something else... was it civic? cant remember i just don't like them at all.. plus i own a truck with 100hp no need for one at all...daily driving i dont like it either...

thats what i ment.....no need for one since you aint going to be racing, or worrying about how long it takes you to shift...

Well the hurst also cleans up the shifting more than anything. It gets rid of the sloppy play in the shifter and makes things very positive and precise. But I detailed exactly what is required to swap to the newer style in my previous post. It will require swapping the entire top cover of the transmission over to the newer style, it is only 10 bolts however you can't get the top cover off with the tranny in the truck. The newer stub shaft IS longer than your's and will not sit correctly in your transmission top cover.

nope buddy has one is his 98.. leaked BAD and made a new gasket on it...
