Oil Leak

This is an informative post. I rebuilt my 2.3L a few weeks ago - new everything, all sensors, new injectors. Since, there was a VERY light coating of oil on the valve cover, intake, timing cover, timing belt, pretty much everything on the drivers side of the engine compartment (nothing really on the exhaust side). No strong leak - just a coating, I would wipe things down and it would come back. Every once in a while a drip from underneath, but this pesky thin oil coating was persisting - WITH ALL NEW SEALS!

Turns out it was coming from the camshaft bolt! New high volume oil pump put out just enough to seep through the threads and centrifugal force did the rest - spraying the occasional drop everywhere else. I put a bit of high temp silicon on the threads and the front of the cam and oila' - leak solved.

In case anyone finds a light oil spray, check the camshaft bolt. It needs loctite or some silicon on it.
