Icon4 Please help!!! Problem with 4x4 will not engage

Hey ya'll, got a problem and here's the question...

1999 Ranger 4x4, 186 K and my 4x4 won't engage. This is the first time this has happened. When I started up my truck again, the 4 low and 4 high lights flashed a few times and then went away. When I tried to engage earlier, the 4 high light flashed a few times and went off.

Truck is in good shape minus a small problem with the motor. It is taken care of and is not abused when off roading.

Any advice or suggestions will be most appreciated ya'll.

My poor Amazon is sick... please help.....

Aren't there vacuum hubs on your truck? I dont know much about them, but is prolly where I'd start.

Hmmmmm, I seem to remember having a conversation with you the other night about Ranger 4WD systems

Maybe it's not there on the newer trucks, but behind the drivers side jump seat, there is a black box with a white button on the top of it and a red light bulb. Press the white button to turn that bulb on, and then try to engage 4WD. Again, it might not be there on your truck, it is on mine.

how does everyone go through so many motors??

Jacob keeps eating them up.. I haven't had an issue yet.

My 4wd lights are flashing at me, they have been for a while.. the other night i noticed the lights on the switch weren't on, it wasnt plugged in. BUTTTT that didnt solve it :( I'll let you know when i figure out whats up with mine.
