possible tranny issue

so, ive been having an issue with my truck lately, and i'm getting annoyed as i daily drive it, and its my work truck and I have no idea whats causing it. intermitently on throttle tip in, the truck bucks and shutters and sorta acts like its dying.

this maade me think it was fuel at first. but it only really happens under load and when I'm towing. it sometimes happens with an empty truck, but not as much. i was driving home today after picking up the trailer and it did it as i started up a slight incline. so i held the throttle in the same position and every 10 seconds it would buck. so i gave i more gas, and it did it once more then shifted and drove fine the rest of the way.

I think it might be something wrong with the tranny, but I'm not entirely sure in all honesty. i have another issue that occurs only when the air system is turned on, but i need to get a video to explain that one, so lets start with this and see if anyone knows anything. I really cant afford any down time on the truck as I use it every day for work and other miscelaneous crap. as far as i can recollect it hasnt done this until after it had the tranny flushed. and this was also the second time it was flushed. back in april. BUt the truck was home with my dad adn was barely driven, while i was at school and over in france.

thoughts?

well i dont think its the tranny anymore. truck threw a check engine light today while i was going up a hill with the trailer. i pulled over, engine sounded like it was running on three cylinders. but it then cleared up, the cel is off. when i got home i tried to pull the codes off and it came up telling me that there are none. so who knows. WHen i get out to my buddies shop ill throw his reader on it which is a little more advanced and see what happens. i think its an egr valve or a O2 sensor. soo ill find out soon.

One winter day in Tennessee back in 2007, I was cruising down the interstate (6 lanes each direction, 12 total) doing about 75mph.. all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it started shaking horribly and died.. I barely had enough motion to get all the way over to the shoulder. I tried to crank it, it started, then died. I had it towed to an independent shop, they said it was an anti-theft device that kicked in, they claimed I was using the spare key instead of the original () Then claimed that there was nothing they could do about it and that I needed to have it towed to a Ford Dealer.

Had it towed to Town and Country Ford in Madison, TN.. The techs gave me the run around for a month saying they didn't know what was wrong with it.

When all was said and done, it was the O2 sensor, something I could have fixed myself for $150 (MAX) ran me $987.56 at the dealer, still have the receipt.

I would assume that if it's not doing it all the time, that it wouldn't be the O2 sensor, but then again, I'm not a mechanic.

yeah i got it fixed. it was the plug wires. when i had my other truck at school and this one was at home, it went in for 60k service. they put new plugs in, but didnt change the wires. dumbasses. i figured it out once the truck started throwing misfire codes and ****. so its all better now
