ok im lookin to get a manual tcase and i was wonderin if the 4.0 manual tcase was the same as the 3.0 tcase? will a tcase that came out of a 4.0 truck bolt up to the trans of a 3.0 truck?

first you need to make sure your tail housing on your transmission has the holes for the manual t-case linkage.....

 

does anyone have pictures of how it bolts up to the transmission?

 

The linkage bolts to the two threaded bosses cast into the trans extension housing - not all Ranger transmissions have the bosses.

 

ok so i have those so all i need to do is swap out my electric t case with a manual right

You'll need the BW1354 manual case with the correct output flanges plus the linkage, boot and shifter. Then you'll need to either cut the floor plate or find one made for a manual case.

 

im gonna search for some picture of someone doin that real quick so i can see how hard it is haha

 

Its real easy. Just be prepared to search a good bit for the console and boots to cover that hole you cut in your floor.....:D

 

well i wouldnt have to have the boot and console right away haha, as long as the daggum thing works haha

 

I drove around for over a month with no console or boots, just a big fat gaping hole in the floor. Its definitely doable, but man it sure does get loud and hot with that hot tranny tunnel air blowing right in your face.

I'm transfer case ignorant so here is my question.


From what I understand in this thread, if the tranny tail housing has the boss's on them, then one could use either a auto or manual transfer case assuming all the associated parts are there right?
