rear diff upgrade
I was looking into a rear end upgrade and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either the Yukon gear & axle durra grip possi track or the auborne gear limited slip? I had an auborne gear possi track on my grand Cherokee and had good luck with it for a purpse rig but it would b a little harsh on tires for a daily driver. any input would be appreciated.
8.8 it was a debate on my part to go with posi trac or limited slip but my driving is a lot of off hwy driving so I decided to bite the bullet and get the possi. If I drove lots of hwy miles I would have went with the limited slip. Summit has a listing of a few options on possi or limited slip diffs. Sure there are others out there but that's who im familiar with.
Do you mean you were debating between a limited slip and a locker?
Posi-Traction is a limited slip.
It's just what GM called their l/s setup. Ford calls it the Trac-Loc, Mopar version was a Sure-Grip. Yukon calls theirs the Dura-Grip.
They are all forms of a limited slip differential - they just gets the job done by slightly different means, but provide the same general benefits that all limited slips do.
Now a locker is a different animal from a l/s and is better for those more difficult off-road situations.
