Rear End Swap

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but here goes: My '86 Ranger (5.0 swap) has the original 7.5" 4 banger rear end and I want to put in an 8.8 unit. I'm told a 93-97 4.0 Ranger rear end fills the bill. I also have a line on a local '93 Bronco rear. Will it fit also? Don't know about the width. Thanks!

Ranger 8.8" will just bolt in.

Any other vehicle rear axle will require cutting off and re-welding attachment points.
And yes you would need to check the width.

1997 and earlier Rangers used 56.5" width, 1998 and up used 58.5" width

I think full size truck, 8.8" or 9" would be 65" or so
