Right front drive shaft?

So I am on an adventure to tear the front axle out of my truck to replace the bearings and figure out why there is play in the right side. For the past 2 years there has been a hum coming from the front of the truck and recently it has gotten much much worse.

I have pulled my axle shafts out once before when I did my ball joints.

This time I pulled out my right side and I noticed this. There is some play between the CV joint and the shaft. Is this normal? I dont remember it being there before. I also dont remember the gap being there.

If it isnt the hub humming then replace the CV's. In my experience, the play in the CV may have made it blow apart and it made a loud popping and grinding noise after it broke and it did hum in 4wd prior to it breaking. I went with A- Cardone Cv's from summit racing.com, they are brand new, not remanufactured and cost about 56.00 for each CV. Since I made the fix, it's been fine since.
