Shift Motor Wiring Question

Am replacing the shift motor on the transfer case. I want to use the new plug, but do not know how to get the brown wire pin and the other two pins from the magnetic pickup out of the old plug and into the new. Any Ideas?
Thanks - Bill

If there using weatherpack connectors you'll need a neat little tool like this

You can find more info at weatherpack.com

Most Ford connectors have this little red insert in them that you pull out to release the pins. I'm guessing Rev's tool facilitates that? I've managed to get them out other ways, but the right tool is priceless sometimes.

Na, that tool is for weather packed connectors.

I believe the ones your thinking of are more like this. I think they called them comb lock or something to that effect.

Heres another link with some good info on electrical connectors

Got ya. Well, the shift motor connectors I'm familiar with are round, but then I've got two older Explorer transfer cases and haven't really looked at newer ones.
