I'm not 100% sure what that is doing there. It looks to be on the back side of the Midshift/Carrier bearing. (I've heard it called a range of things)
Grab the driveshaft itself and see how much play is in that bearing, it may need replaced. Your truck will also vibrate on coast and probably howl if the bearing is bad.
Either way, I'm not sure what that collar type piece is, I don't remember it belonging there.

Thats a hanger bearing from the looks of it. Just get a new one, mine ended up like that while I was camping. Took my friends truck into the nearest town, bought one for 80$ at the local parts store and installed it in the woods. Its shitty to do(in the woods atleast) but its not overly difficult.
Thats what it looks like from the angle anyway.
More Information for TIMKEN HBD206FF
Kinda pissed I paid 80$ for a no name garbage brand now. Oh well. Didnt know about rock auto back then.

Unbolt the driveshaft. Pull it out of the bearing. Unbolt the bearing. replace bearing. put driveshaft back in, bolt drive shaft back in.
While camping it took me 2 hours. I will admit I had a few whiskies in that time though...

well after crawling under there and comparing the two parts ive realized that they are not the same and after alot of research i figured out its actually the vibration dampener or harmonic balancer on the driveshaft.
