the vibration dampener on my drive shaft just came off on my way home from getting gas and dropping off a female friend, it was loud and crazy sounding, i thought i dropped my drive shaft or blew up the locker in the rear.

it was making this crazy sound, like metal plates hitting together.

its dark and i don't own a camera, so pics from my phone will have to work for now.

im going to take the drive shaft off tomorrow and pull the stupid thing off, i know it should be ok with out it, but im not positive, what do you guys think?

 

mine came off last summer, scared the crap out of me. i just had it taken off, and have had no ill effects since. my mechanic just said to keep it in mind and if i start getting wierd/new vibrations to have it fixed.

hrm, i need to get my drive shaft balanced anyways.
one of the weights broke off when i did my u-joints lol..

 

yea, mine had fallen off a long time ago so I ran without it with no problems...

 

i took a better picture of it before i took it off, it left a few nice gouges on the trans but it will be fine.
