Soft clutch, bleeding fixes temporarily, no visible leaks

I have a 2001 Ranger with 198K. Purchased used so I do not know when the clutch was last serviced. The clutch becomes soft after a couple weeks of use. Bleeding at the slave remedies the problem. The fluid level in the reservoir does not drop and I cannot find any signs of leaking. No fluid leaking around the master and no fluid on the driveway. It seams air is somehow getting into the system but I have no idea where it is coming from. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

You may need a new Master, or pull out the master and turn it upside down to bleed it

Master sits at an upward angle and air can get trapped at the top or the seal at the top is bad and its sucking in air

Thank you Ron,

Glad to hear you think it is the master. I was afraid I would have to drop the transmission and I am not setup well for that job. I will try a new master. For all the work it takes to get it out of the truck, no sense it putting the old one back in after bleeding if it is leaking air at the reservoir.

Best regards
