Started yesterday; no fuel pressure today
So I replaced the fuel pump yesterday and it cranked and idled fine. Today I fixed the broken quick connect on the fuel line at the filter and now I can't get fuel pressure. It almost cranks for a second but won't quite get it. No pressure is building up at the rail. Any suggestions?
2000 xlt 3.0 gas

Fuel pump only runs for 2 seconds each time key is turned from off to on
So try cycling the key on and off a few times
And LISTEN for the fuel pump to run for those 2 seconds, its not quiet, you will hear a HUMMMM from the gas tank
"New" no longer means "it works"
"New" now means NEVER TESTED, so keep that in mind, unless it is a Motorcraft fuel pump assembly then its never been tested, just put in a box and shipped out, "we" are now the Quality Control for all 3rd party parts makers, they just add a warranty
I have read of people getting a 3rd or 4th fuel pump in the first few months to finally get one that lasts, but it sure beats $600+ for a motorcraft assembly

UPDATE: Just shoot me. It was out of gas.
Apparently my fuel gage is inaccurate because it was reading above empty but visual inspection of the tank revealed very little gas. Put a couple gallons in and it fired right up.

At least you figured it out before spending hundreds of $ and hours just to find out it was out of gas, I've seen it done.
