tapping noise in 05 ranger 3.0

Can anyone tell me if switching oil weight will stop this lifter tapping? It just started, it has 150,000 mi on it. I just changed oil like a week ago. I THINK THEY GAVE ME 10W30 but not sure, since I replaced M.A.Flow sensor too. Any ideas welcome.

Welcome to the forum

Does the noise only happen cold or after warm up as well?

Probably not an oil weight issue if it happens all the time, cold or warm

You can add a bottle of "noisy lifter" additive, they all work about the same, Rislone, or Marvel Mystery Oil are the most popular
These help clean out lifters so they get stable oil pressure inside to prevent the ticking noise

No. It's not intermittent. It's from start on. Clicks with roms, coming from back passenger side of motor
