Torsen front L/S coming this summer!

I just got an email from torsen I thought I would share with you guys!

I wrote:
Hello,

I am a big fan of your differentials. I know there are a few one offs / prototype units floating around for the dana 35 front application found in 98-08 Rangers and 94+ explorers and Many of the Dodge Dakota's (market!) I was wondering if you have any plans to make them for the public? I for one would buy one to replace my aussie locker in a heartbeat!

Thank You,

They wrote:

Yes, we were to launch them last year but ran into snags along the way. We hope to get a Torsen version of the Dana 35 out to market summer of 2008. Check our website for updated information when the unit is officially released.

Thanks for the question and interest in Torsen!

Glad I didnt shell out 1500 for the quiafe!

So I will probably be selling a 4.10 aussie locked front diff this summer!

^^ Don't hold your breath on that one. I'm betting a minimum of $500.

I am sure it will be at least as much as the rear ~475.
Probably more. The aussie is not a full carrier so it should be cheaper.
other than the crazy 1500 quaife l/s made for the james bond movie, this is going to be the only limited slip available so I am exited.

The lockers like to break front half-shafts. That's what I hear anyways.

and hubs. and driveshafts and especially clutch. And it is unruly to say the least in snow and ice. I love a locker in the back but prefer a limited slip in the front. Dont get me wrong a front locker is amazing in some situation but it really sucks in others. Plus I hate to say it but the noise is really getting to me. I ignored it for nearly a year but after so many cvs and hub/bearing problems everytime I hear it rattling around I think somehting esle is broken or on its way out.

Rochester, New York. Torsens are produced for both 28 and 31 spline 8.8 Ranger axles. They are available from Ford Racing Performance Parts, Reider Racing and others.
