Looks great. I think I just might have to have one of these.

Just to clarify, that's D35 in 95up Explorer and 98up Ranger, correct?

Bob I bet it would be a lot nicer to drive in 4x4 than the front Aussie. I really liked having Aussies front and rear off road, but sometimes it was a pain, and a little awkward in snow. Had the torsen been available earlier I would have run the Aussie rear and torsen front.

Yes. On snowy roads in 4WD, a front locker needs tires that are exactly the same diameter or it pulls like a ****. I had to measure the circumference of all four and pick the pair with the best match for the front. Even with matched tires, it pulls momentarily each time the locker engages when the power is applied. Not the end of the world but it gets your attention. I'm sure that you experienced the same thing.

I rotate tires every 3k miles (always have) so I didn't really have an issue with pulling due to that. But it does absolutely pull the wheel to dead center when you get on the throttle initially. It is kind of fun really, but if you drive regularly in the snow/ice it would get less fun. The last experience I had with both Aussies in snow was pulling the trailer from Oregon to Kentucky, snowed from Idaho all the way through Wyoming. At times there was 60-70 mph winds from the side and having front and rear lockers in 4x4 actually helped keep me going the direction I wanted. Pretty interesting though being on an ice covered road, tracking sideways for miles at a time with a trailer. Didn't bother me so much as it bothered my wife who was driving behind me!

Anyway I strongly considered a true-trac for the front of the F150 but I ended up with an E-locker to be easy on the CV joints, while having all the traction when I need it.

I had two of the 4 tires replaced under warranty at 2 dfferent odo's so there was some diameter variation despite the tires having been rotated on schedule.

well here it is almost 2 year later and the torsen has been working just great , in mud the front end just keeps diggin away, in heavy snow if the truck can't go forward it will go sideways, on snow covered roads or ice you can't beat the traction.. no problems with binding in turns & in 2 wd you don't kno its there.. i have a detroit trutrac in the rear & the torsen up front seems to be the perfect combination for what i use the truck for..

I wanted to get that L/S up front but never did. Guess I will just stay locked and deal with it.

Glad to see it is holding up though.

I absolutely love mine. I don't know its there until I put it in 4wd, even then it isn't a nuisance. Pulls straight on a hard acceleration, and just keeps going.
