Tranny Shutters BAD!!!

My transmission on my auto 3.0 shutters really bad at constant highway speed causing me to either let off or speed up to get it to stop. When I take off really fast it will go then its like (on a manual but I have a auto) I push in the clutch and let it out a couple times without letting off the gas. Is my transmission done for if so I need to start looking for another one to get rebuilt by my brothers friend so it can be ready when it goes out.

dump some locus trans fix in it. but you will need to take some out before you add it.

also check the fluid level

Mine has been doing the exact same thing.. but it is very very very intermittant. It did it every day for a week, only once. Then it stopped for like 3 months, now it has done it again. I also get the 'double clutch' when it tries to shift certain gears or downshift more than one on the freeway.

I'm going to drop my pan and give it 2 bottles of Lucas.. that should fix it up.. lol.. I only need this thing to last another 6 - 10,000miles anyway..

Thats EXACTLY what mine did after I took on the water. It took about 2hrs of road time before it did that.

It was acting weird when shifting (hard shifting) and running 10* hotter than normal (180-185) and after a couple minutes it just went...BAM...and I revved to the sky and went no where.

I would definetly try a FULL (professional) tranny flush and/or that lucas stuff (I swear by lucas) and at a last resort just get a new tranny. I should have done it the smart way (like your saying) and get myself a 4wd tranny w/ transfer case and have that totally rebuilt. Then when yours goes, just swap it in.

My money is on the output shaft plastic thingy (forgot the name, but mine went). it is cause from the foward-reverse motion of being stuck or major stress (35's and 4.10's...thats what the mechanic said) on the output shaft. It's a little plastic piece that holds the shaft and when you slam it in gears or put to much stress it breaks and shatters (like mine). You have to take apart the whole tranny to fix it...and they won't touch it unless they are rebuilding it.

Try the full flush at midas or an oil place first. Then try lucas...then buy yourself a new tranny

easy, but price. Mine shutters a tad on cold start and putting in reverse, but thats the only time it does it.
