02 Clutch Install
My clutch has been slowly getting worse and worse. Usually just take-off and a little hard to shift as I imagine slave cylindar is going bad. I have a Luk clutch kit, anything else I need other the the regular tools? Have never done a clutch install but have an idea how and all weekend to do it. Also should I get my flywheel resurfaced? About how much and where can it be done? Thanks guys.

^^he did mention he suspects the slave as being the culprit, thus he's probably swapping out the slave as well...
One thing you definately need to do when installing a new clutch, is get your flywheel resurfaced. Usually runs in the $20-40 range at a machine shop. Also replace your pilot bearing.
DEFINALY get yourself a set of external torx sockets. You need one of those(don't remember the size) to get the flywheel bolts off. Don't do what I did the first time......and ruin like four 8mm and 9mm sockets trying to get them off....and eventually taking a tie grinder to get the remaining bolts off, and havning to fork out $18 at ford for the new bolts you just ruined.
It's a cake job really. Make sure you have a clutch alignment tool as well.
Get yourself a Chilton's or Hayne's manual....it really does help out.

I have replaced many clutches in my long lifetime and have never shimmed a flywheel due to resurfacing. I have never bought a new flywheel either. Some flywheels have been resurfaced more than once. I can't believe that .0010" to 0.020" removal of material would effect the clutch disengagement. The slave travel surely is not that precise that it can't travel at least another 0.020" to 0.050". I would think there could be that much variation in the manufacture of the clutch.
