truck shutters when releasing clutch?

When I'm in 1st gear starting off from a light, the truck likes to shutter as I slip the clutch. I figured it was a clutch problem soooo...

Replaced:
Clutch Kit
Flywheel
Pilot Bearing
Throw out bearing
Rear main seal (just for good measure)

So what else could it be? I guess the transmission mount felt a little weak, I donno how to tell if the U-Joints are bad or not but there was hardly any play when trying to move them around by hand.

Anybody help me out on this one?

My truck does this as well but I blamed it on faulty clutch installation. Next time I'm doing it myself. Oh yea, I have a Centerforce Clutch.

Did you be sure and degrease the flywheel and pressure plate before putting it together?

I've done a lot of clutch installs in the past, so yes, I covered the flywheel in brake cleaner 3 times and wiped it all down each time. Did that to the pressure plate twice.

The thing did this EXACT same thing before I replaced the clutch, I figured it was an incorrect install from the previous owner as well but I don't see how. Torqued everything to spec (digital mac wrench), input shaft play looked about normal, other than the clutch/pressure plate, everything I installed is OEM Ford.

I'm taking blame away from the clutch (I did this before I even started the clutch job), because I can't really feel it through the pedal, only the seat.

I didn't install my clutch but I had Goodyear install a new flywheel because I though that was the problem. Like I said, next time I'll install it myself and I will go for the Spec clutch kit next time.

One more thing, my truck shutters if I release the clutch normally at 1000-1500 rpm but if I rev higher like 2000rpm it does not shutter.

Mine does it too, under certain conditions. I have always attributed it to the rear suspension. I feel it is related to what I think is called "axle wrap". Anyway it is a torsional ocsillation of the rear axle.

I don't think so. Why does my shuddering go away with higher revs? I could be my Centerforce but I doubt it. I'll find out if I decide to keed my truck and throw in a new clutch.

IN2 does have a decent point. I am going to replace my tranny mount and U-Joints anyway (cheap parts with almost 100k on them, might as well). After that I'm going to start poking around at the rear suspension.

Hmmm I used to have the same thing. I think its clutch related because after i burned up my clutch when i got stuck in a sand pit it stopped doing it.

Now I only feel it once a while and just very slightly.

I would also check the engine mounts.

Mine has started doing this even more now that I have installed my 8.8 with 4.10 gears. Everything in the rear appears to be in good shape and the clutch is fine, doesn't rev at low speeds in a high gear.

It seems like if I release it easily it's like everything haults for a second and then kicks back in. It feels like a tooth is gone off a gear but pretty sure that would be making a noise. U-joints are good.

I wonder if it is a sensor.

How do I check the transmission mount? Wouldn't I feel it though the gear shifter?

Well it did it with my 7.5 rearend but now with my 8.8 and lower gears I figured the lower gears are putting more torque (play) on something. I checked the differential before I put it in and it is solid. The truck I pulled it off had an engine fire and the back end was in perfect shape and only had 30k miles on it.

I have done quite a bit of searching and it's probably due to a combination of things. I installed the FX4 lift blocks and haven't reinstalled my sway bar. It is probably ever so slightly twisting my axle and when I release it slips back into a more normal position. I think I'm going to order some James Duff Tractions bars because I get axle hop like crazy in the winter anyways.

The James Duff traction bars and new U-bolts seemed to have solved it for 99% of the time. It has only done it once and that was after some wild terrain. I wonder if loose shackles could be the cause of this? My leaf springs are in good shape.

Looking back I should have ordered some 4-6" lift leaf spring pack and installed an explorer axle. Then I could have installed the explorer rear suspension...Oh well
