Using stock (?) 235 75 r15 tires and speedometer is still off by about 5-7 mph.
Hello all, first time on this forum. I was wondering why my speedometer is off 5-7 miles per hour despite using stock ish 235 75 r15 tires for my 95 ranger. It has a manual transmission. Are those even the stock tires, BTW?
I tested the speed with a GPS speedometer on my phone, and the speed on my ranger speedometer reads faster than it's actually going.
The ranger did have a set of 30x9.5R15 Achilles desert hawk mud tires on it. I'm wondering if it could be the speed sensor itself or if that gear on the end of it has been changed.
That can very well be. I looked on the door sticker though and it calls for 15" rims. Got me stumped...
"stock ish"?
What size tire is on the door sticker? Compare that to the size you have now.
