V8 4x4?

Im lookin to swap my buddy's built 302 into my 96 out of his 66 mustang. Problem is it has a T-5 behind it which is a 2wd tranny and I need 4wd. I want a manual 4wd tranny. Do I have any options?

Beef up that transfer case. But if you want a manual and want a lot of power out of that motor i recommend the t-6!

its not a ford t-5 its aftermarket and its torque rating is higher but it doesnt matter cause a 2wd tranny isnt an option.

F150 5spd,
M5ODR2 route from a 97-up F150's 4.2 V6,
and I thought you could convert a T-5 to a T-Case (using a 5spd 4wd S10 tailshaft housing), isn't 91Ranger 5spd and 4x4?

I dont think youll want an M5ODR2 from a 4.2

i think youll want a <1996 M5ODR2 from a 302

beter yet, if you want creeper gear go with a ZF5-speed

So I could replace my 1354 with a 1350 and get the advance adapter to mate the 302+T-5 to the 1350? Thanks

The stronger 1354 should bolt up to the Advance Adapter kit the same way a 1350 does. The bad news is this: when I checked a couple of years ago, AA said that the T5 to 1350/1354 adapter kit was no longer in production.

If you want to keep the built T5 tranny what about running a divorced t-case? Just sign the papers and do away with it. LOL
Then you can find one that will stand up to the power, have a way better ratio selection, and do away with the pesky electronic t-case.
