I bought new pads, drilled/slotted rotors, and new classic tube SS lines. installed em no problem looks nasty. take it out for a drive. work great for breakin in pads. take it out again and go to hit the pedal and its rock hard. take it in and its kickin abs codes. Left front sensor missing. replace it. on the way outta brake shop kicks abs light and code, bring it back, right abs sensor missing. replaced. one the way outta the shop AGAIN kicks the light and spits a code, left abs sensor mising. ahh the new ROTORS!! but they have abs toner ring and look and measure up! im lost

p.s. the rock hard pedal doesnt happen everytime i drive or even everyday. It goes rock hard let off, lil spongier, let off, push again, goes down even more, let off final push back to normal. and on the initial (bad) brake it pulls hard to the right.

I would try bleeding the brakes again. For the ABS code I have no clue.

Did you use the tone rings that came on the new rotors, or reuse your stock ones? Mine was kickin ABS when i used the tone rings that came with the rotors. Replaced with stock and its fine. I would also re-bleed the brakes.

Oh, and where did you get your SS front lines from?? link please?

really thats a thought i used the tone rings that came with it. is it hard to remove the originals? brakes have been proffesionally bled.

www.classictube.com...however I will say this. yea they look dope they came with 100% SS hardware, no mods needed BUT and thats a huuuge but.. they took forever!! crap communication and I asked for 5" longer than stock and they sent 12" longer than stock. Not too happy bout that. I actually ran them around the spindle. ill get pics soon.

They just pop off. Be careful, because you might bend them. Are you 2wd or 4wd? Did you grease the slids of the calipers when you had them off?

Your link doesn't work....can you fix it? I couldn't find the stuff on the classictube.com site.

How long are the stock lines? 16inches??

2wd grant...4x4's have them built into the hub/bearing assy.

Stock softlines are like a whopping 6 or 8".

yea....those tone rings just sorta pry right off...be careful because they will bend if you aren't.

i installed powerslot rotors on my truck and had similar problems. i dont know why but they kept kicking on the abs and it would make a horrible grinding, but not all of the time. i bled the brakes, reinstalled the pads, put new bearings in and re-torqued the bearings numerous times and nothing helped. i finally said forget it and put on the auto zone pads that were plain just like stock....lo and behold it all worked fine. the abs rings looked the same on the powerslots but they definetely weren't so i would suggest putting the old rotors on or trying oem rotors.

stock '01 rotors and tone rings vs. powerslot rotors and tone rings = difference in the 'holes' on the tone rings. I think the powerslot holes were smaller than the stock rings. Dangerranger01's truck had the same issues when his slotteds went on. Carried the stock rings over to the powerslots and everything worked just as it should.
