06-UP Fender Flares "HELP NEEDED"

Hi guys I bought brand new ford oem fender flares, I picked them up pretty cheap, thanks to a inside hook up :) I have searched high and low and I cant get a straight answer as to putting these darn things on. I have a ranger that never came with any fender flares so their are no holes available to mount them, I know I have to drill some, but for the Love of Life, Help me out here, anyone have a homed template? thanks

^^^ That link explains everything. It's a good write up. Just get rid of the ***********s and add the "ford ranger forum" in but get rid of the spaces.

lol are you joking? i explained exactly how I installed mine and have had no problems.

literally used self tappers through the inner lip into the inner fender lip. and they have held just fine.

if you're confused about the part where the stock ones install in holes that are right on the fender, nobody uses those when installing them on a truck without those holes. so unless you wanna drill 100 holes in the sides of your truck... lol

self tappers on the inner lip

and the fender tape that toyota uses on its trucks to help seal it all up

So, You mean to tell me the guy that did the how-to write up is mis-leading people?
Are you not suppose to drill holes on the exterior part of the fender?

that write-up is factory style, but fords idea of factory installing flares is for rehtards. drilling holes in your fenders opens up places for paint to chip and rust to start so if you dont have flares its much nicer to tape them on to the body like other manufactures. then if you ever want to do something crazy like sell your $$$ flares you wont have a body full of holes and nastyness.

Thanks for the heads up Mike ... I'm getting ready to put some 06 + FX4 fender flares on my truck and I'm glad I read this first.
(Could someone do a write up on how to install the flares without drilling holes in your fenders?)

I think Sea-Bass had a couple of posts on how to install them without drilling. He used the Toyota tape like Ty did. I'll see if I can dig them up.

This is all I can find. Maybe Tys can help out
