My new-to-me 1996 Ranger's tailgate latch won't open the gate.

I've searched the forum and most people's problems seem to be with a broken handle. Mine is with the latch itself.

I opened the access hatch and the right side clip that holds the rod to the latch is broken. The previous owner had tried to zip-tie it back but that didn't last.

I haven't been able to find a source for this small plastic clip. Before I go to the dealer and find out just how much they might want to charge for it, does anyone have suggestions on where I might find an aftermarket replacement?
