'98 4x4 bumper/valance swap questions

OK, I've been searching the forums for a few hours and I see conflicting information. I have a '98 XL 4x4 with the painted front bumper and no fog light valance. I want to swap it for the chrome bumper and textured bumper with the round lights. Is this valance the '01-'03 FX4 or do I have to get the smooth '01-'03 Edge valance and paint it??

Will this valance only fit the 4x4 '01-'03 front bumper?? If that's the case, do I need to get different bumper brackets to use the '01-'03 4x4 front bumper in place of my '98 4x4 front bumper? I would usually get the smooth valance and paint it, but I don't really want to deal with the chipping paint...

Do I need to change grills or headlights or anything else for this bumper/valance conversion to look right???

Thanks for your help guys.

If you want chrome upper, and black/grey textured valence w/ round fogs.....you'll need 01-03 XLT 4x4. FX4 is an XLT 4x4. I believe it'll bolt right up to your '98....don't need to change frame horns or anything. I believe.

Edge are all painted. The lower is valence is smooth and painted.

Hope it helps.

soory...had to find my pic. And you don't have to change any grille or headlites or anything. There's a member here that has your bumper, but chrome, and is rollin' with my grille headlites. it'll work and itll look good.

Exactly. I want that bumper and valance, with my 98 grill and lights... So it should mount up with no fitment problems??? I'm having trouble located a decent priced 01 XLT bumper now. I found a place that had a good deal that's not to far away, I called and they are out of stock...

Thats what I did to my 98. Heres what it looks like.

I didn't have to change anything to put it on. I just bolted it to the truck.

^^^That looks soooo nice! Do the '98 front tow hooks fit thru the valance? I'd hate to lose those.

I'm wondering the same thing. One more question. What's the difference between to 2 and 4wd bumpers??

That looks great. I love the color matched valance. I would prefer color matched on my own, but the truck is gray, so it won't matter as much.
