Personally I'm very happy with my painted bezel. I also painted the door trim pieces the same color (Dupli-Color radiant silver metallic with a matte clear coat) and they look good. You could go with the Explorer console mod, black the headlights, paint the interior trim, new emblems. There's lots of relatively inexpensive mods out there.

crank the torsion bars and get some newer ranger mirrors to replace those flag style ones... one is free the other should be under 100 if you use junkyard parts

I know you say your wallet isn't fat but save up for tires and wheels. It totally changes the look 1000X better.

I would crank the torsion bars to level out the truck... and it doesn't cost anything if you've got a common ratchet set.

You might want to look into getting a set of Ventvisors for the front windows. It looks pretty good, blocks out the sun glare (at times) and allows you to open your windows a bit in the rain.

A line of fire under your tailgate would look pretty good as well. And of course new rims and tires would set the truck off well, but that is a bit more expensive.

I really do want to lift it, but I hear it is a long process. And also I am not qualified enough to do something like that. What are the biggest tires you can put on an unlifted ranger?
