Only thing on 04+ header panels that need good, pretty paint on are those things underneeth the headlights....it's part of the body that you see. The rest, you don't see from the outside, so Fusion would be fine. I suggest a satin black. On the parts under the lights, I'd grab a can of duplicolor color matched rattle can paint from the autoparts store. I'd even do the top of the header panel with that duplicolor as well, since you'll see it when you pop the hood.

because black looks good no matter what color your truck is.

no... i think you misunderstood FX4wannabe01's post... read it again. He said the ONLY part of the header pannel that must match the rest of the truck (or... "look pretty") is the part under the headlights! The rest of the header panel should be done in black, such as the area behind the grille.

The only part of the panel that color even matters is the pieces under the headlamps....those are built into the headerpanel unlike your truck currently. I suggest black on all of it BUT the parts under the headlights because black always looks good behind a grille....looks alot better than body colored if the truck is light colored(white, yellow, red, silver, etc).

I usually just spray it with regular spray paint.. You might even want to match the header panel to the core support.
