My next mod will be a new edge style front and rear bumper. I am on the certifit online catalog, and see that the " front bumper xlt/edge painted" is only 86$. I am going to need a bumper and a valance right? And am I wrong to think that "painted" means that I am going to have to paint it?

Here are the 3 valances that I am looking at :

1. Edge, tremor model, with fogs, paint to match $43
2. without fog lamp, textured $34
3. fx4 with lamps, textured $35

I am assuming that #1 is the one I want, because I don't want textured, I want to paint it to match my ride.

yep none are the pic #1 and 3 are basically the same style but one is smooth and paintable and 3 is just grey textured

 

1 is unpainted smooth plastic.
2 is textured gray.
3 is a darker textured gray, almost black.

 

In the pic...that's a SLP Thunderbolt ranger bumper cover.

Here's a comparison of a XLT 4x4 valence vs. Fx4 Valence.......notice the extra cuts on the Fx4 for the "knuckle" style towhooks....


Option #2 on the left(won't work with EDGE/XLT 4x4/Fx4 upper bumpers)

 

The bumper in the first pictures is sweet, looks great on that truck.

 

So, I've decided that I want a color matched bumper with a textured valance. Looks like I'm going with option #2 or 3 for valances, but do I have to get #3? From what FX4wannabe says, #2 wont work? I'm kind of confused now.

 

OK #2 wont work because the Fx4 and edge bumpers have built in flares
if your going to paint match it go with #1 the Edge one

Take note: I just copy pasted a previous post of mine......on the 01-03...notice the "notch" that "kicks" up at the wheel wheel on the valences....
