Door locks.

Well I've had a manual door lock from a standard Ranger installed on my truck for a little over a year now, and since I've started to see a surge in thefts, I've decided on finding a replacement soleniod for the passenger door on my truck.

The problem is I don't know where to find one. I tried AC Delco but it kept coming up with a parts list for the Econoline Vans and F-150s. I've looked in local salvage yards but it's pretty hard trying to locate a 95-97 Ranger with an Anti-Theft unit.

Turns out they only sell replacement door cylinder locks.

I took a picture of it in hopes that one you members on here could point me into the right direction.

At the time that it malfunctioned, it wouldn't catch on to the door, it would just bounce off the door jamb latch , so I had to disassemble the door itself and tie it shut..believe me driving down the highway at 70 mph in 30 degree weather was a total P.I.T.A , I ended up going to a local yard and just buying a manual one for about 10 dollars, installed it and called it a day.

I dont know what the technical term for the unit is..so I just call it the Door Lock Solenoid.

Already did a search over at Ranger Power Sports but the posters from 4 years ago never really specified where to pick one up brand spanking new.

Anyways..here are the pictures of the said unit I took just 5 minutes ago.

the 'insides' of the latch:

And the latch looking at it as if it were installed in the door itself.

Now from what I can see that gray part is supposed to lock onto that door jamb latch but in this case it just slides off.

If anyone can tell me where I can purchase a new latch I'd highly appreciate it.

I'll bump this as this is for safety and security. What about just getting an actuator and some relays and just wirin it up with the current system? I dunno how difficult that would be with the standard system from ford but was relatively simple when I installed my alarm and convert from manul to power locks.
