does anyone know where I can find a hard shell camper shell that would fit my 07 STX?. I need a larger hauling capacity but can't afford to trade my truck in for a full size. My current bed cover only allows me to haul so much and have it be secure so I figure I'll replace it with a bed topper. I've looked around and have only been able to find the soft ones that in my opinion just don't look right and in no way would they keep the things in the bed safe.

 

There are tons and tons of options out there for brand new...Leer, ARE, GemTop, etc....I won't be going into a full list of manufacturers. I don't know your location but here in the States, Craigslist is the best for sourcing a cheap, used canopy/topper/whatever you want to call it. $1500 new canopies can be had in the $400 range.

I am quite fond of the Leer 100 series of canopies as they fit the style of the truck very nicely. In fact that's what I have...a 2010 100R purchased for $200. After paint, new lights, a rack, and new seals, I'm into mine about $500.

Note: Ranger canopy may fit a little different on your Mazda bed.....so test for proper fitment prior to handing over the cash.

The 3 and 5 door canopies are nice for work trucks, you can get to anything in the bed thru one of the doors.

You can often find these at wrecking yards since most people prefer side windows vs doors, so they don't sell that fast.

Also watch for Rangers for sale with that type of canopy, seller might accept an offer just for the canopy, or a trade with a few dollars for your cover for his canopy.
