Love bugs

I don't really know what it is like in other parts of the world, but I know that down here in the south, twice a year the lovebugs come out in full force. Until now, I have never owned a vehicle with a great paint job, so I didn't care much to prevent the damage that they caused.

How does everyone here keep their trucks free from the paint damage that they cause? Is there some kind of clear coat that I can put on my hood? I hate to be the guy that wants the easy way out of everything, but there has to be some way other than coming home after a days work, and scrubbing every bug off the truck, for a month straight.

I hate love bugs. Stupid University of Florida. I heard that you can spray the front of your truck with Pam cooking spray and they wont stick. I have never tried it but it seems like it would work.

yea they are bad here, I see some cars that you cant even see the front of it because its black from all the bugs. I just wash it often with the pressure washer and some times I have to give it a little scrubbing.

I have no clue what these "love bugs" are but they sound nasty and I'm glad we don't have them here!

My pressure washer and a box of Bounce dryer sheets are just inside the door to my garage during "love bug" season. I also find a car wash when I go on longer trips to try and avoid getting those damn pits in the paint.

Here's a pic I took after coming back from Daytona last fall. I've had my truck covered w/ more of them at once but anyway...
