Well take a look at your pic there. Even though mud is brown, it's sorta golden, now imagine that mixed into your black paint. Black looks better covered in mud not mixed. I don't think it would look very good, but if you have a sample it may change my mind.

What about just a plain old metallic black? I'd rock that. Remind me of a caddy.

If I were to do any flake I would do as fine a flake as possible and put it in the clear. Big metal flakes look old school and cheesy.

That color would look sick 05-07 sti's come in black with a gold flake, and also the new evo x's also come that way. The gold flake is alot more suttle than the last two pictures in real life its just the lighting.

I say go hot pink with flames. You'll be the envy of the entire neighborhood.

Here what you gotta do....

find a black STi or a new Evo. Find a Escape that's that black metallic pearl color. Then make your decision.

Now that someone mentioned it, if it's subtle like a sti, the gold would be okay. I really like the black Sti's, a buddy of mine had one. I was diggin it! But it's all up to you on which you like more. I suggest seeing the color in the sunlight on a car in real life before a decision is made. That way you know you made the right choice, before you sprayed the truck.
