so im gonna paint my rims black. Will the paint stick to polished aluminum? im guessing i have to sand it pretty good?

 

I took some autotive grade scotchbrite pads and roughed mine up. then i used rustoleum enamel to paint them. I have had any chipping or anything

er... i cant afford the powder coating, but did you use any primer, or just paint to metal?

 

my 2 cents... don't ruin your wheels, go buy some of those cheapo soft 8's and save the nice wheels...of course unless your wheels are in bad condition.

Your not gonna ruin your rims if you take the time and do it right. Dupli_Color has a wheel paint kit. I painted my factory wheels and they look awesome! Everyone who has seen them couldnt believe they had been spray painted. Go to their website, they have very detailed instructions. I painted mine a gun-metal grey. It made my truck look great imo.
