imagine getting into bed, lifting up the comforter and sheets, you are just doing that with your flooring, with your cab floor being the mattress.

I partly agree with that. I use my sliders as steps, but they will also be used as sliders. I didn't get them to just step on.

mine are aftermarket westins, i actully made brakets to lower them, they were up against the body and unuseable as steps when i first put them on. my 2wd ranger was just the right height for me, this 4x is a little taller. and my daughter sure appreciates having a step to get in with. yes it looks better without. but they are on mine as a functional item, not for appearance.

What else do you have to take off to pull the carpet back?

on 4drs, there's about a 4' plastic piece that's snapped into the floor that holds the carpet down and provides a finished look...no ugly exposed screws like on 2dr's.

I'd rather have sliders than steps because the steps look like *** and provide no off road protection. If anything, they're the first thing to get wrecked. Sliders atleast double as protection and look cool.

yeah.

if that's what you'll be asking for them, I'd have to bow out of the bidding...

btw: you should see what Ford charges for that bed-extender you see on my truck...

The only reason why I check FORD prices is because I haven't found an aftermarket one just like it. And no, your silly, I'm not charging that much. Heck, their 2 years old but still in good condition. I just couldn't believe it. Absolutely NUTS!

Can't cut em, who would want to buy em then. Now, I'll unbolt them but not sure I'm gonna pull up my flooring for those brackets.

Brenda --

Without the brackets, they'd only be useful to folks who already had step bars (and thus, the brackets) in their trucks. Anyone else would have to find the brackets in a junkyard or buy 'em at the dealership.

It should take no more than 5 minutes to remove the brackets... not really a big chore, there -- just lift up the carpet (or vinyl flooring, if that's what you have) and they're right there...

x50 on the floor coming up easy... unsnap some molding, lift, remove, let flooring drop back to floor and snap molding back in... well worth the extra money you'll be able to charge to have the brackets w/ the bars...

If you guys want a set with brackets i'll pull mine today and sell them, but shipping them hell no. I hate them they hang up on everything and if the wife, kids, dog, friends can't get in without them no driving in my truck. Saves me gas and taxi services for all the people who want to use my truck.
