Vent Window Remove
Vent Window Remove
Got my '86 Ranger with mis-matched doors. Driver has vent window, passenger has single glass. Just bought a good driver door with single glass and started cleaning it up to paint. Then it occurred to me that I should be able to simply remove the vent window from the existing door and swap out the glass and hardware to make it a single glass setup. I can't believe Ford would have made separate stampings for the two door types. Am I missing something? Thanks!
1983 to 1988 should be the same doors, regular or super cab didn't matter, but thats as far as I can go
Never thought about pulling vent pillar out to make a door 1 glass, I guess it would be free to try but I would think there would be issues with seal around the window at the top, a gap for air to whistle thru
LMC Truck has 1 glass trims, here: Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

Thanks for the reply. It does look like a simple parts swap out. Saw a video of a guy doing the same thing with a BII last night. The doors need new felts on both sides anyway, so that should make it complete. Thanks!
