Icon5 Water Getting Into the Cab

Hey folks,

I've been finding small puddles of water on the floorboard of both the driver and passenger side after it rains. I replaced the exterior cab trim pieces and I'm wondering if that's the source of the leak. They came with foam around the bolts and I hand tightened them to be snug. I didn't think it would be the source of the leak unless I messed up some how by either over or under tightening it.

Any suggestions on what I can do to seal the cab from water intrusion?

Thanks,

Check under the wiper area that there is not a bunch of leaves, or stuff that could be plugging up, and running over.

Sorry for the long delay.

I'm pretty sure the leak is from those trim pieces. After a rain I will feel around the cab at the back where those trim piece bolts would be and the liner is damp. The leaves issue isn't really a problem.

I've been thinking of taking the trim pieces off, applying a little bit of silicon around the holes and then put it back together. I don't think that foam that was on the bolts of the trim pieces was enough. Either that or maybe it wasn't tight enough? It's hard to gauge since I don't want to tighten them to the point he plastic breaks.

I haven't gotten around to trying to tackle it because taking apart the plastic trim pieces in the cab was a MASSIVE pain in the *** the last time I did it and I've been busy.

Any advice on how to block the water out would be welcome!

The center high mount brake light is a very common leak.

Could use some two sided sticky foam to use with the bolts. I think if too much debris around the wipers, causes it to overflow into areas causing it to get in also?

I may need to check that out and see if it's leaking there.
